The New York Yankees haven’t lived down their defensive debacle in Game 5 of the World Series. Although there were several defensive mishaps for the Yankees in the fateful fifth inning, the most memorable was a fly ball from Tommy Edman that was directly hit to Aaron Judge in center field — and was dropped by the AL MVP.
Judge’s dropped ball was the first of several catastrophic plays that lost the Yankees their 5-0 lead. The Dodgers would go on to clinch the Fall Classic with a 7-6 triumph in the Bronx.
Just over a month after the Dodgers won the World Series — in large part thanks to the Yankees’ poor defensive performance — the Dodgers have put Judge’s dropped ball up for auction… seriously.
