ESPN announced today that the Los Angeles Dodgers were named as one of the finalists for Sports Humanitarian of the Year award. They were named alongside the Denver Broncos, Sacramento Kings, and New York City Football Club.
The honor was given in recognition of the work of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, and the work done within the community. This is the sixth annual Sports Humanitarian Award and is sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in 2020. The award is meant to be a celebration of the impact made by teams and athletes who are using sports to make a difference within their cities and communities.
