GLENDALE, Ariz. – Andre Ethier’s spring has suddenly taken on a very familiar feeling.
“It feels like its Groundhog Day all over again,” the Dodgers’ veteran outfielder said. “I’ve been stuck in spring training for 18 months now. That kind of hit me when I was sitting at home yesterday.”
Limited for most of two weeks by lower back pain, Ethier underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed a mild herniation of a disc in his back. Ethier received an epidural injection that he said “helped a lot” with the pain and tightness. On Tuesday, he also underwent a CT scan and X-rays to determine if there is any damage to the spine or possible fractures to his vertebrae contributing to his problems.
