Dodgers All-Star Alex Wood to undergo X-ray on ankle

An X-ray examination of Dodgers All-Star Alex Wood's right ankle revealed only inflammation a day after he injured himself during a calisthenics drill.

Wood sat out the workout Thursday but returned to action Friday. He played long toss and threw off a mound. He intends to throw a full bullpen session on Saturday.

"Everything was fine," Wood said. "I just have a little inflammation in my foot. Nothing crazy. I could have, and I wanted to, throw my bullpen today. But they're just going to back it up, and see how I feel tomorrow."

Wood made his first All-Star team in 2017.
