Alex Wood became the latest Dodger to suffer an injury setback, as the team announced he will undergo an elbow debridement on Wednesday in New York. The Dodgers estimated his recovery time at eight weeks, which would make him unavailable until the middle of September.
Wood was rehabilitating from an elbow impingement suffered in late May. He completed two innings in a simulated outing Sunday at Dodger Stadium, pitching alongside Clayton Kershaw. After a four-inning stint, Kershaw experienced a recurrence of back pain the next day. There is no timetable for Kershaw's return, and Wood will require an operation.
