LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers continue to be the leading destination for Cuban players looking to make the jump to the major leagues.
Right-hander Yaisel Sierra is the latest Cuban to reach agreement on a contract with the Dodgers. Sierra is set to sign a six-year, $30 million deal, according to multiple reports.
The 24-year-old right-hander joins a long list of his countrymen in the Dodgers’ organization starting with Yasiel Puig and Alex Guerrero at the major league level. Additionally over the past two years, the Dodgers have signed infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena, right-hander Pablo Fernandez, outfielder Yusniel Diaz, right-hander Yadiel Alvarez and second baseman Omar Estevez and scattered them throughout the farm system.
