The Dodgers are making things official with Cole Hamels today. Just a few hours after the report came out that they were signing the free agent, Hamels is being added to the 40-man roster. He will not immediately join the team, but he’s in the organization now.
Hamels was signed by the Dodgers to a $1 million deal for the season that includes incentive bonuses per start. The 37-year-old veteran has not pitched in the big leagues since starting just 1 game for the Braves in 2020.
In order to make room for Hamels on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated RHP Yefry Ramirez for assignment.
