The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Josh Fields from the 60-day disabled list and optioned Yimi Garcia to High-A Rancho Cucamonga ahead of Thursday night’s series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers designated Rob Segedin for assignment in a corresponding move to add Fields back to the 40-man roster.
Fields has missed the last two months due to a shoulder injury, and he was not expected to return until rosters expand on Sept. 1.
