With Dodgers fans holding out hope for reliever acquisitions before the trade deadline, the club made a minor deal on Thursday acquiring Tyler White from the Houston Astros. White was a 33rd round pick in the 2013 draft and was recently designated for assignment. He is also out of options so the move is interesting.
The odd twist for Tyler White is that he became expendable due to Yordan Alvarez, the ex Dodger prospect, breaking out and becoming a mainstay in the Astros’ lineup. With Alvarez raking, the loaded Astros roster had no room for Tyler White.
