LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers did a little more roster trimming on Thursday, acquiring left-handed relief pitcher Scott Alexander in a five-player trade involving the Royals and White Sox.
The Dodgers received Alexander from Kansas City and minor league infielder Jake Peter from Chicago. Los Angeles traded away left-handed reliever Luis Avilan to the White Sox and sent right-handed starting pitcher Trevor Oaks and minor league infielder Erick Mejia to the Royals.
Chicago also received Joakim Soria and the $10 million guaranteed remaining on Soria’s contract in the deal.
