LOS ANGELES -- The third and final deal for the Dodgers on the day of baseball's non-waiver trade deadline, acquiring relief pitcher Josh Fields from the Astros in exchange for minor league first baseman Yordan Alvarez.
Fields, who turns 31 on Aug. 19, has a 6.89 ERA in 15 relief appearances this season for Houston, but also has a 2.81 FIP thanks to 20 strikeouts and only three walks in 15u2154 innings.
He has been in the minors since mid-May, putting up a 1.65 ERA and 2.21 FIP in 23 games for Triple-A Fresno, with 32 strikeouts and seven walks in 27u2154 innings.
