Dodgers 7, Padres 2: Dodgers demolish Padres, break franchise record with 222 dongs in a season

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers’ offense exploded, Rich Hill dominated, and the defense didn’t let anyone down in a decisive 7-2 win over the Padres Saturday night in front of a roaring crowd of 53,536 at Dodger Stadium. The bullpen scuffled a bit in the ninth, but Kenley Jansen ultimately came in and shut the door.

Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks continued their downward spiral with another loss to the Rockies tonight. Their elimination number is now down to one. With their 86th win, the Dodgers maintain their 1 1/2 game lead in the NL West with seven games remaining.
