The Los Angeles Dodgers came into the 2024 season with a major question mark at shortstop. Gavin Lux was initially expected to take over the shortstop role, but he struggled at the position during spring training coming off a torn ACL.
The Dodgers then switched Mookie Betts to shortstop and moved Lux to second base. The change lasted for the first three months of the season before Betts sustained a fractured hand and the Dodgers had to replace him while he spent nearly two months on the injured list.
Los Angeles primarily relied on Miguel Rojas to fill in for Betts but has also used Tommy Edman in the position since acquiring him.
