With Opening Day nearing, the Dodgers 25-man roster has been officially set. Injuries will keep a number of veterans on the sidelines for awhile with Yasmani Grandal, Andre Ethier, and Howie Kendrick starting the season on the disabled list. The one positive is that these injuries provide an opportunity for a few first year players to prove themselves.
Happily, the rookie with the most hype appears healthy and ready to contribute on Opening Day. Hopefully for the first of many seasons, Corey Seager will be penciled in as the Dodger starting shortstop. While it may be premature to talk about the Hall of Fame for this 20 year old infielder, fans will expect Seager to add some punch and clutch hitting right away.
