Hyun-jin Ryu made his first start since the 2014 postseason for the Dodgers this evening. He went 4.2 innings, allowed six runs, walked two and struck out four batters. You had to figure that he was not going to come out looking like Clayton Kershaw right off the bat. Ryu has been on the bench for awhile and struggled with multiple injuries that just created setback and setback for his career.
Ryu gave up a home run and the first run of the game to the first batter he faced. Melvin Upton Jr. sent a ball yard which gave the Padres a 1-0 lead.
