Many of the players who helped the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the New York Yankees in the World Series previously contributed to the Dodgers’ 2020 World Series victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. The 2020 World Series was the first championship for many Dodgers players, including Clayton Kershaw, Max Muncy, Chris Taylor, Austin Barnes, Walker Buehler, Brusdar Graterol, Will Smith, Blake Treinen, and Kiké Hernández — but for most of those players, the second championship the sweetest.
The 2020 World Series victory, of course, came during the COVID-19 pandemic. The World Series championship is viewed by some as not as legitimate as a typical World Series win because the regular season was shortened and there were no crowds.
