The Los Angeles Dodgers and manager Dave Roberts have agreed to a record-breaking contract extension that will pay him $8.1 million per season from 2026-29, surpassing Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell’s average annual value of $8 million.

While the deal has not yet been confirmed by the Dodgers, Roberts was asked about it following Monday’s 6-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
“I’m excited,” Roberts told reporters. “This is where I always wanted to be.”
