The Dodgers are getting closer to choosing their new manager. But it won’t be Darin Erstad.
The former Angel has withdrawn his name from consideration, despite the fact that he was expected to be one of four candidates called back for second interviews. With Erstad out, the Dodgers appear set to choose from one of three finalists – former Padres manager Bud Black, his former bench coach Dave Roberts or Dodgers director of player development Gabe Kapler.
At the GM Meetings in Florida earlier this week, Dodgers GM Farhan Zaidi said he expects each of the finalists to get “a little face time” with ownership before a decision is made.
