Corey Seager is the first Dodgers shortstop with two 20-homer seasons

Corey Seager hit his 20th home run of the season on Friday against the Nationals, making him unique in Dodgers history. All 20 of his home runs in 2017 have been hit as a shortstop, after hitting all 26 of his home runs as a shortstop last year as a rookie.

Seager’s blast came against Edwin Jackson in the second inning, a three-run shot to right field that gave the Dodgers a 6-0 lead.

It was Seager’s first home run since Aug. 5, after a span of 29 games and 116 plate appearances without.
