LOS ANGELES — Cody Bellinger will soon have a Rockwell watch for both wrists. He was named the National League Player of the Week for a second time on Monday, after helping the Dodgers to seven wins in seven games for the week of June 19-25.
Bellinger hit five home runs and drove in 12 for the Dodgers last week, including a pair of multi-homer games. Bellinger already has the Dodgers rookie record with six multi-homer games, and is one off the major league record of seven, set by Mark McGwire in 1987.
Despite spending the first 20 games of the season in Triple-A Oklahoma City, Bellinger leads the National League with 24 home runs, and has driven in 55 runs in 57 games.
