Clayton Kershaw not at his best but he has enough to beat Braves

LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers aimed an elephant gun at an ant Saturday night. But got the job done without really pulling the trigger.

Clayton Kershaw wasn't at his best – but beating the Atlanta Braves hardly requires that. Still he pitched six scoreless innings and scored the first run in a 4-0 victory Saturday night.

In the most telling set of numbers to define the Dodgers’ season to date, they are now 11-1 when Kershaw starts – 19-26 when he doesn’t.

The six innings of work was his shortest start of the season and his four strikeouts were also a season-low for the major-league leader.
