Every spring, a rainbow of colors blooms from all the flowers and trees at Disneyland.
Some of the colorful flowers, like those in the trees and bushes, bloom in the spring – adding to the color of the park. Others are planted and replanted year-round by the park’s staff of about 100 gardeners and more in its Horticulture Department.
That same staff prunes the trees and makes sure everything is watered properly through the use of a drip irrigation system that is tied to a satellite weather system that monitors rain activity and more.
Every year, the Disneyland Resort plants more than 1 million plants and shrubs with most of the planting done on “third shift” starting at 2 a.
