The Dodgers’ top priority in the offseason was taken off the board Friday night.
Pitcher Zack Greinke, who Magic Johnson said was the team’s top priority earlier in the week, has a contract agreement with the Arizona Diamondbacks, pending a physical.
The news was first reported by Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
According to multiple reports, Greinke will receive a six-year contract. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the contract will pay a total of $195 million, or $32.5 million per season, the highest ever for a baseball player.
