LOS ANGELES >> Brett Anderson’s long-awaited comeback was nearly over Sunday before it began.
The final note on his entrance song, “Throne” by Bring Me the Horizon, was still floating through Dodger Stadium when the Pittsburgh Pirates started their onslaught: a leadoff single, then a two-run home run, later a three-run home run. That was only the first inning.
Ultimately, Anderson faced nine batters in the Dodgers’ 11-3 loss. Five scored. It was a rude welcome back for the left-hander, who had missed the entire season while recovering from back surgery in March.
Anderson officially left the game with a mild left wrist sprain.
