MONTERREY, Mexico -- Dodgers pitchers Walker Buehler, Tony Cingrani, Yimi Garcia and Adam Liberatore teamed up for the 12th combined no-hitter in Major League history in Friday night's Mexico Series opener, a 4-0 win over the Padres at Estadio de Beisbol.
Buehler, the 23-year-old rookie making only his third career start, pitched six innings and was removed after making 93 pitches, having struck out eight and walked three. Buehler has been handled delicately since requiring Tommy John surgery in 2015 and being drafted in the first round.
"It was awesome -- it's one of those things, to pitch in a place like this, an atmosphere like this, it was awesome," Buehler said after the game.
