LOS ANGELES -- When a Brandon Beachy throws his first pitch on Saturday night against the Brewers, he will be the 12th different Dodgers starting pitcher this season.
That matches the total for the entire 2014 season, and continues a long tradition of using several starters.
From 2005-2014, the Dodgers averaged 10.6 starting pitchers per year, and have used between nine and 12 starters every year dating back to 1998.
But this year, with Saturday marking just Game No. 89, and with the trade deadline approaching, this year could see that number still grow.
