Boston Red Sox Sign Kiké Hernandez To 2-Year Contract

The Boston Red Sox officially announced the signing of Kiké Hernandez to a two-year contract. The team did not release financial details, but prior reports indicated the deal is worth $14 million.

Hernandez and the Red Sox came to terms on Jan. 22. His departure from the Los Angeles Dodgers had become expected as Hernandez sought an opportunity to play every day. The 29-year-old shared a heartfelt goodbye video in which he thanked the organization and fans.

Even while filling a utility role for the majority of the past six seasons with the Dodgers, Hernandez appeared in a minimum of 100 games in four years, including three of at least 130 games.
