WASHINGTON -- Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger's 38th home run, hit in the second inning of Saturday's game against the Nationals, tied the National League record for home runs by a rookie.
Wally Berger in 1930 and former Nationals manager Frank Robinson in 1956 also hit 38 home runs in their first seasons. Mark McGwire holds the Major League record for home runs by a rookie with 49 hit in 1987.
