MESA, Ariz. -- Dodgers All-Star first baseman Cody Bellinger, who fouled a pitch off his right leg in a second-inning at-bat, was removed on defense in the bottom of the fourth inning of the Dodgers-A's game on Tuesday.
Bellinger, the National League Rookie of the Year last year, fouled the Paul Blackburn pitch off his leg and, after a short delay, flew out to right field. He remained in the game on defense for the third inning, but was replaced at first base by Mike Ahmed for the bottom of the fourth.
Bellinger's situation comes one day after All-Star third baseman Justin Turner suffered a small non-displaced fracture of the left wrist when hit by a pitch.
