LOS ANGELES -- Cody Bellinger and the Dodgers struck first in Monday's tiebreaker game against the Rockies. Bellinger lifted a two-run homer over the right-center-field wall against Colorado starter German Marquez to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning.
Bellinger's 25th home run had a 103.8 mph exit velocity and a 38 degree launch angle, per Statcast™. He scored Max Muncy, who reached on a passed ball by Rockies catcher Tony Wolters.
Yasiel Puig threatened to add to the damage by following Bellinger with a double, but Marquez intentionally walked Enrique Hernandez, then struck out Dodgers starter Walker Buehler to end the frame.
