Another setback for LA Dodgers pitching staff

PITTSBURGH >> There is another crack in the Dodgers’ pitching plans.

Right-hander Frankie Montas — potentially a hard-throwing option for either the starting rotation or the bullpen — has been sidelined with a cracked rib on his right side and is likely to be out of action for weeks.

The injury is a continuation of the problem that led Montas to have the first rib on his right side removed in early February. At that time, the second rib was also showing signs of a stress reaction but the hope was it would heal during the four months Montas spent rehabbing from the surgery.
