In his first, and perhaps only start as a Dodger, Nick Tepesch dumped his team into a four-run hole and exited after only four innings, exposing his bullpen to the bats of the Pirates in an 8-6 loss.
Tepesch gave up five runs during his time on the mound. But the relievers could not hold the line and the offense could only make up so much of the difference. The defeat snapped a six-game winning streak for the Dodgers (41-34).
The Dodgers turned to Tepesch out of something resembling desperation. The organization deemed Mike Bolsinger unfit for a rotation spot last week.
