Anderson solid again as Dodgers defeat Padres, 5-1

SAN DIEGO – Brett Anderson knew he was going to wear a label for awhile – but this is a new one.

“Brett’s been solid for us all year,” Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said after Sunday’s 5-1 victory over the San Diego Padres.

“He’s been so durable for us,” catcher A.J. Ellis said.

And this was after Anderson had to leave the game with two outs in the sixth inning because of cramping in his left calf. Even that was dismissed as a case of a “sneaky-hot” day in San Diego (as Ellis described it) and dehydration rather than another malady to add to Anderson’s long medical history.
