LOS ANGELES — For the second week in a row, a Dodgers player was named National League Player of the Week. This time, it is pitcher Alex Wood, who was dominant in his two starts last week.
Wood struck out a season-high 11 in five innings in a win over the Pirates last Monday, then followed that up with 10 strikeouts in six scoreless innings against the Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday. With 11 scoreless innings and 21 strikeouts, Wood took home the weekly honors, for the period of May 8-14.
