Sure there was a lot of bad news for the Dodgers on Friday — Julio Urias needing shoulder surgery, Corey Seager leaving after two innings with a hamstring cramp — but there was plenty of good news on the field, where the Dodgers dispatched the Rockies 6-1 in the opener of a weekend series at Dodger Stadium.
Alex Wood continued his stellar pitching, limiting the Rockies to one run on three hits in his six innings of work, striking out seven. The only run he allowed came in a single to left field that Franklin Gutierrez played into an RBI double.
