LOS ANGELES — Dodgers outfielder Alex Verdugo was originally on the roster for the Fall Stars Game in the Arizona Fall League on Saturday night, but was replaced on the roster this week because he’s headed to Japan.
Verdugo will play for Team Mexico in a pair of exhibition games against Japan next week on Nov. 10-11 at the Tokyo Dome, in a World Baseball Classic tuneup of sorts. International sensation Shohei Otani is on Japan’s roster for those two games, making the exhibitions even more interesting.
Verdugo after the exhibition games will return to the Glendale Desert Dogs and finish things out in the Arizona Fall League, which concludes play on Nov.
