Alex Verdugo has had slow start in his first full-season as a professional but in 42 plate appearances in June, Verdugo is hitting .308/.357/.513. On Sunday, Verdugo had key double to drive in the go-ahead runs as the Loons won their tenth straight game in their playoff drive.
Verdugo turned 19 last month and he is the eighth youngest player in the Midwest League. That may not explain his first two months but it will be interesting to watch Verdugo and see if he continues to improve as the season progresses.
