LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers infielder Alex Guerrero didn't join the team at Dodger Stadium for the Freeway Series against the Angels, and will open the season on the disabled list with left knee soreness, manager Dave Roberts said on Thursday.
"He had an MRI that showed minimal damage, but now we understand the discomfort he has been having in his knee," Roberts said.
Guerrero last played in a game on March 21, and has been limited to just nine games in Cactus League play with knee soreness. He stayed behind in Arizona to continue rehab.
