Adrian Gonzalez, Still Key to Dodger Offense

Back in 2012, the Dodgers took on a great deal to acquire 1st Baseman Adrian Gonzalez from the Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers gave up a number of players (Allen Webster, James Loney, Rubby De La Rusa, Jerry Sands, and Ivan Dejesus), some of whom are still major leaguers. In addition, they added Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and Nick Punto (none of them are still in baseball). And, as designed, AGon is the only player from that trade four years ago still with either team.

The Dodgers got it right with This trade provided proof to Dodger fans that our new front office was serious about putting a winning team on the field, while giving our minor league system time to rebuild.
