Today's post features my latest T206 pickup as well as a Southern California native: Gavvy Cravath. He was Babe Ruth before Babe Ruth, establishing just about every major home run record that Babe would break soon thereafter. He also had a cannon for an arm and led the league in outfield assists numerous times. I highly recommend everyone read the SABR write-up on Cravath.
The card is graded a PSA 2.5 and has nice eye-appeal even with a hint of paper loss around Gavvy's junk. He was nicknamed Gavvy after reportedly killing a seagull in a game and the Mexican fans in attendance yelling "Gaviota" which means seagull.
