2018 Dodgers Review: John Axford

Having made a headline-grabbing deal when the Dodgers acquired Manny Machado right after the All-Star break, the Dodgers trade for right-handed reliever John Axford was almost the opposite kind of deal.

Axford had pitched in 45 games with the Toronto Blue Jays prior to being traded to the Dodgers. In those games, he had thrown 51 innings with 50 strikeouts and 20 walks. His ERA was 4.41.

After his acquisition by the Dodgers, he pitched three games and then was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right fibula fracture on August 14th.
