What happened in 2016: Spent most of the season recovering from back surgery, making just four appearances (three starts and one in relief).
Brett Anderson started the 2016 season on the disabled list after sustaining a back injury in Spring Training that required surgery. He didn’t appear in a game until Aug. 14, when he made a start against the Pirates. In his first inning back, he allowed five runs on five hits (two home runs) and a walk. Anderson might have kept going, but he left after just one frame due to a right wrist injury.
