LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers have signed their fifth-round pick, Lakewood High School shortstop Brendon Davis, the No. 162 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, the club announced on Sunday.
Davis was rated by Baseball America as the No. 51 high school prospect entering the spring, but a broken left wrist sidelined his senior season at Lakewood High. The Dodgers lured Davis away from a commitment to college ball at Cal State Fullerton.
The club has signed 27 of its 42 draft picks, including seven of their 12 picks from the first 10 rounds.
