A look back at the 2015 season for Alberto Callaspo, who probably played a little more often than originally expected.
What went right
Callaspo's 10.1-percent walk rate ranked eighth among the 24 position players to bat at least once for the Dodgers in 2015.
The switch-hitter as a left-handed batter hit .267 with a .345 on-base percentage in 114 plate appearances from his stronger side. The Dodgers utilized Callaspo relatively well, with 82.6 percent of his plate appearances coming as a left-handed batter.
Batting mostly from the left side, Callaspo proved a natural and willing reserve partner at third base, spelling Justin Turner once or twice per week at the hot corner, and ended up starting 26 games at third base.
