The Los Angeles Dodgers have stated publicly that they want to acquire one or two top-level arms by the MLB trade deadline, and they've made Tigers pitcher David Price their top target, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
Price will be a free agent after the season, and there's no guaranteed that he'll re-sign with the club. However, the Tigers haven't decided if they're willing to be sellers at the deadline, and are expected to wait another week until making a decision on Price.
Los Angeles has also talked with the Texas Rangers about righty Yovani Gallardo, though the two sides aren't close on coming to a deal yet.
The Cubs and Blue Jays are also trying to make a trade for Price.
