The Los Angeles Dodgers are perched atop the NL West at the beginning of the second half of the 2015 MLB season, and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports believes that such positioning will lead to a Dodgers trading spree before July 31st's MLB trade deadline.
"The question is not if but when," Rosenthal said regarding deadline activity for the Dodgers. "The Dodgers are going to add a starting pitcher. Probably multiple starting pitchers. And given Friedman's history, he will engage on everyone from Hamels on down."
One name that Rosenthal brought up in passing as a potential trade chip was OF Yasiel Puig, but he believes that would be a long shot unless the return is worth the loss.
"Doubtful, unless the Dodgers could get an equivalent return — a young, high-end talent who is both affordable and controllable long term," Rosenthal offered.
