Just 1 day after teammate Josh Beckett threw a no-hitter against the Phillies, Dodgers P Hyun-Jin Ryu threw the 24th perfect game in the history of Major League Baseball against the Reds, winning 2-0.
The Korean-born pitcher, in his second season in the majors, signed a 6 year, $36 million deal before the 2013 season after playing professionally for 7 seasons in Korea.
The last perfect game in baseball was by Mariner pitcher Félix Hernández against the Tampa Bay Rays. This is only the 2nd perfect game thrown by a Dodgers pitcher. In 1965, Sandy Koufax threw a perfect game against the Cubs.
Ryu now has a 19-10 record in 1 1/2 seasons in the MLB.
