The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Yasiel Puig from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday after he missed 38 games due to a left hamstring strain.
Here's the Associated Press with the report:
To make room for the Cuban star Los Angeles optioned outfielder Scott Schebler to Class AAA Oklahoma City.
Puig last played on April 24 and was batting .279 with two homers and four RBI when he was hurt. He made two rehab appearances with Class A Rancho Cucamonga on May 7-8 before reinjuring his hamstring. He resumed his assignment with the Quakes on Thursday, going 3 for 7 with a double and a home run in two games in right field.
The Dodgers went 20-17 with Puig out, turning to two-time All Star Andre Ethier to fill the gap. He obliged, hitting .285 with six home runs and 19 RBI starting in Puig's absence.
