In this edition of Dodgers rumors and news, the Los Angeles Dodgers would likely have to part with one of their most prized prospects if they decide to make a run at Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price before the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline.
According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, "if the Rays trade their ace, no one can blame them for seeking a haul. With the Dodgers, the Rays talked about some combination of shortstop Corey Seager, outfielder Joc Pederson and pitchers Julio Arias and Chris Anderson."
The Dodgers will likely be reticent to hand over Pederson, with the young outfielder's talent ceiling positioning him as a huge boost to the team's outfield and lineup in the very near future.
While there is a ton of debate on Pederson and whether his high strikeout rate could serve as a detriment down the road, the Dodgers seem too connected to Pederson to consider sending him off as a part of any blockbuster trade.
Thus, it is very possible that the Dodgers remain on the outside of the David Price sweepstakes, just as GM Ned Colletti intimated last week.
