Infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers' big-league club at this time last season. Now he's playing for no one after being suspended by the organization for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Here's the Associated Press with the report:
Arruebarrena was suspended by the Los Angeles Dodgers for the remainder of the season on Thursday for what the team said was ''repeated failures to comply with his contract.''
Club officials declined further comment.
Arruebarrena signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Dodgers last February. He made his Major League debut with the Dodgers last May, hitting .195 in 22 games before being sent back to the minors.
The team designated him for assignment on December 31st, reassigning him to Triple-A after he cleared waivers.
